I'm sure it's a puppy thing. I have heard so many people say their dogs did not like to be held or petted when they were puppies, and then when they got older they were more "lap dogs."
I'm like you, I can't wait for my puppy to enjoy the snuggling. My husband says we will then wonder where our "puppy" went!!
