Kathy you and I always seem to be on the same page, I also wondered if lights were on. When Maureen knocked on the door, she said the bark of a small dog was very muffled, like it was in a back room, with the door shut, she also said there was a Tahoe car parked in front. She also said that the house next door had the very same curtains, with the same tags on them, which lead her to believe that family also lived next door. These are houses, not apartments. Or that the same person owns the houses.
I have been reading all the posts since I logged off, and I just thought I would add that I think it would be a bad idea to get into the house, it would raise to much suspicion, and the fact that the dog is kept in a back bedroom would not allow you to ID or take a picture of the dog. I feel the only way to get him and I am going to be honest, is with a search warrant from the police, or breakinto the house when no one is home and take him. I know the second is not going to be very popular, but if it is my dog I would break down the door, storm in their with 2 of the biggest men I could find and take my dog back!!!!!!! I know that is not an option, but I am so tired of taking one step back all the time.
I also do not think Officer Nickerson is working there and the number we have for him, is not the way to get ahold of him. I think Maureen and her Husband need to go to the police station and request information as to when they would be able to get ahold of Officer Nickerson, he could be on vacation. If he is unavailable, we need a new officer on the case. They should remain calm, but direct. It does not help anyone to get the Modesto police against you, we need them to help us get Zeke, so no matter how we all feel, we have to hold those feeling in, and abide by the law!
I also think it would be best if anyone could sit in their car during the daylight, and that could be Maureen and her kids, and watch the house with her camera, all we need is one picture with the lady and the dog.
I also know Galantea has a great head on her shoulders and we should take her advise, as she has done this before, and she knows the importance of not taking the law into your own hands.
I don't think the lady would let anyone in her house, she has ZEKE hidden anyway, and all that could do is raise suspicion and make her place Zeke else where, than where are we?????
I know how hard it is for each and everyone of you to take a step back and a deep breath, we have gotten over many hurtles, the good news is we now know where ZEKE is, how bad can that be, we want to continue to know where he is, so do not draw any attention to yourselves buy pretending your car won't start etc. I also would not go to the door with flyers, that will only give them cause to believe we are on to them. Believe me if they go to the door, they are not going to chance ZEKE getting a chance to get out. They will probably have him locked in the back room, as it could be they are not allowed to have pets, so they will make sure hi is hidden. I do think sometime this weekend she will leave the house with ZEKE, and that is when we need to get the photo we need. Staking out the house is something we can do and should be doing, Maureen could make it fun for her kids, they have great eyes, and God willing we will get the pictures we need to go to the police.
I will call the police again, and just ask if Nickerson is working there still, and if so what are his days that he is there.
Please keep the prayers coming, the gifts, and the candles lite, we are as close as we need to be to get ZEKE back where he belongs, we do not want to blow it now.
I also believe the weekend is the only chance to get Zeke, as these people probably work during the week days.
I think if Maureen asks Scott to stake out one place, and she can stake out the other, at least we will not have lost the whole weekend. We so need a stake out. Maybe Maureen and her husband can take turns, so the house is staked for the whole day, and into the night.
I don't know what I would do if we are this close and don't get that little guy home. I know how heartsick you all are, as I am also feeling the pain, but we have to take Galantea's advise, and fast is not always best. She will help us so much, and has the law on her side. I wish I knew what she told Maureen, I will have to give her a call and ask, I was unable to be on line yesterday and last night.
Love to you all,
Jeannie
