Livi does this, too! I am so glad that others do it as well. I was afraid that I had done something to make her scared of me. I had even told my husband that I think that she is so upset with me because I am the one that grooms her. I was going to make him start doing it because it made me sad to see her act afraid of me.
I even started walking softer because I thought maybe that was it. I am so relieved that it's not just Livi. I so badly want to just reach down and pick her up and love on her but she will, at times, shrink away from me or even run but then if I go the opposite direction, she is running after me.
