I too am checking in to let Papi know that he is on my mind as well. Knowing that Patticake is there with him curled up beside him makes me happy. I am confident that Patticake KNOWS when Papi does not feel well or is worryiing, or is just not his usual self and she will comfort him in that special way that our furbabies do. Deucy ALWAYS knows when I am not up to par...instinctively...he will put his little paws up on my chest and begin licking me....and I mean LICKING me over and over and over ........he just does not stop. I too have a little story to share.
I live about 30 minutes from a town and 45 minutes from a town with a Walmart, so about once a week I'll go to Walmart to get supplies. I ALWAYS try to buy Deucy a new toy (although he has so many now I have two toy boxes for them) It is the look on his face when I tell him (after all the kisses he gives from me being gone) that "mommy got you a new toy!!". OH MY GOSH...........He can hardly wait to see what it is and grab it and run away into another room with it. I put the Walmart sacks down on the floor and as a habit I always pull items out and tell him what they are...he gives them a sniff, then I put them away. I teach him what things are and what words go with what things. He just can't wait to see the toy though, so he puts his little nose into the bags to try and find it. It is SO FUNNY. If he finds it, he grabs it and runs and I don't want him to take off with it until I cut the tags off of it. So, I cut the tags off while he is sitting there eyeballing everything I do with it. As I'm bending down to give him the toy and tell him the NAME of it.........he grabs it and RUNS as fast as his little legs can go and hides under the coffee table to play with it. He will shake it like it is something he has killed and drag it around the house...PROTECTS it ....if I get close to it, he'll grab it and RUN OFF into another room. Then, after about 20 miinutes of hard play, I look down at him (from the computer) and he is fast asleep with his paws and head on that little toy....then the snoring comes. I LOVE HIM SO MUCH!!
