If you really NEED them to come to you...don't chase them, they'll think it's a game and run like the wind. I did bait Winston with treats and plenty of praise to teach him to come. Now he just comes without treats, or if he's getting into something he shouldn't or he may get hurt if he runs, I just tell him to sit...and he'll sit and wait for me. But of course he's 3 years old, but he's done this for a long long time now. It's important they know not to run...to avoid an accident or incident that may be devastating. Work on it, they really are fast learners and want nothing more then to please you...so be happy when they listen to your commands...I mean really happy!!!
