It isn't as fun walking a dog that pulls. My poor sister-in-law can not walk her cocker at all. He's just large enough that when he pulls, hes too strong and yanks her arm. Mia and Bentley are small enough and walk well enough on a lead that I can hold onto it with one finger. Also do not use a retractable lead. That just encourages them to go further than need be. The whole idea or walking on a leash is for you to be in control of them, Not them in control of you. If you can't get it right investing in a class would be well worth it. Those classes are really about training a dogs "owner" .
Once you are shown how , it will be so easy. The classes are harder for the person to learn than the dog. But it is fun and I bet you would enjoy it. Good luck.
