Well I guess Mimi was a lucky girl all things considering... she had surgery on her spinal column. The vet said 1 more millimeter and a bone shard would have pierced her spinal cord leaving her paralyzed and she would have had to have been put down. Thank goodness for that! She is still in ICU being monitored closely. She has stitches from her neck all the way down to the base of her tail. They are keeping a close eye on her to make sure the belly wound does not get infected, that is now the biggest fear. She is going to have months of physical therapy to help her with use of her back legs again and her spine. The doctors say its going to be a LONG road to recovery. I feel soooo bad for this baby! She is a year old and her first home was neglectful, not abusive though. She finally get a home where she is loved to pieces and spoiled rotten and this happens less than a month later! Its just so hard to see such an adorable, sweet, smart, frisky little girl so full of life and love go through all this by the age of 1. It saddens me to no end.
Thanks for your prayers and well wishes. I am still hoping and praying that she grows stronger each day and this is all behind her. Shes such a doll! Here is a pic of her! She is a bit underweight my mom is working on fattening her up! She is just thriving in her new home with my mom and step father!
