I don't know if this is just in MASS but from what I heard when a pitbull goes into a humane society they put them down, they do not adopt them out. I think its sad that they must fear the breed. I do see (around here) most pitbull owners are young punky boys who want a 'bad -a$$ dog' and then don't treat the dog with the respect and authority that breed of dog needs.
My brother owns a pitbull mix. She is the sweetest dog EVER! you can trust her with dogs, kids, anyone... but my brother worked HARD at making her that way! He took NO crap from her at all and was not afraid to 'rule with a heavy hand' so to speak. She pretty much ignores everything BUT my brother haha honestly though, Im really starting to get nervous about attacks. My moms dog got attacked just 2 days ago and she is in ICU with stitches from her neck to her tail to repair her spinal column and they are worried about infection due to a belly puncture from the other dog. This was just because they took a morning stroll while on leashes in their own neighborhood. Just NOT fair!
