My baby is home. He came home with medacam and an antibiotic (no cast). I set up an ex pen for him and he is there now. He isn't interested in doing much except sleeping and sitting on my lap, so I thought now would be the time to get him accustomed to a restricted setting. He usually has the run of the house. He is clearly uncomfortable and won't put the surgery leg down and holds it out when he sits. It is a little bruised and swollen but the incision itself is very clean. He is peeing and pooping and eating an adequate amount-with a little chicken mixed in, of course to interest him.
He slept fine last night which I think is the key to healing early on.
I am so glad he is home!
I would suggest using the collar-he didn't bother the incision when he was neutered, so I was surprised to see him attempting to lick the site when I removed the collar. Needless to say, its back on now!
Thanks for all your thoughts
