You are right. Normally, bitches grow very little after the first heat, but as you say every puppy is different and sometimes they may be a little unpredictable. Rubi, my six year old lil one stopped growing at 7 months right after her first heat. She weighed around 5 Ibs then. Then, all of a sudden, almost at one year of age she grew up in a spurt putting on 1 1/2 Ibs.
