I bet Layla has a "skeeter" bite! Poor baby! But, she may have gotten into something itchy or another bug outside too.
I'd call your vet about the Benadryl...and make sure you're using the kids' dye free kind, just in case. It's bubble gum flavored!
Emma has seasonal allergies, mostly in the summer/fall season and we too use benadryl for them. I believe she got about 1/2 tsp every 6-8 hours, and she was about 5 lbs. then. But, check the dosage with your vet. I think it's ok if you give them a little more than they need, or a little more frequently than 6 hours if they're really not feeling well, but she will probably be hyper first, then sleepy. Call your vet in the AM to make sure you've got the dosage and timing right.
A friend of mine uses the little Benadryl dissolvable strips on her Boston-you might try those too. I think they're easier for them to take than liquid. |
