I'm no expert myself but I've bred a few times and a friend of mind who is an experienced breeder always tells me it's crucial the little one does not lose weight, otherwise it'll debilitate fast. I think that the fact she wants to latch on is a very good sign. This friend of mine has hand-reared quite a few pups and she tells me a syringe, one drop at a time, giving the pup time to swallow always works the best. If you have to nurse her for some time, make sure you rub her little tummy after each feed to stimulate bowel and bladder movements.
I truly wish you the best.
