If he's not getting into trouble, you probably don't want to crate him. If he likes your bed, can you get a baby gate for your bedroom, contain him in there with his water, some toys and his pee pad?

On one hand, you don't want him to be unhappy in his crate. On the other hand, you don't want him getting hurt by accident. Try giving him more room.
