Hi, black-coated yorkies tend to have cottony texture. My six year old Rubi's coat is cottony. She's got a black coat which is softer to the touch than the silken texture. I mats more easily and it's easier you'll snap its ends off when brushing out. They look quite fluffy, like having lots of hair. Sorry I've got no pictures on my computer of her yet.
