Usually yorkies can learn it with about 12 weeks of age. Before this they canīt controll. I made the experience with my three yorkies that they have to go out every two hours when they had this age, but before they often made it one time all 10 minutes and then after 2 hours, so you canīt really train them. Of course you should make the firsts steps, that means watch your puppy! When itīs running in an unusual way with his or her nose on the floor, catch it and put it outside. The same after sleeping or eating and after a play. And if he or she does right say "Fine, very well done!" or what ever you want, but let the puppy know his action was alright.
