The vet called me yesterday and said Rex is not putting any weight on the surgery leg, and not eating, which they say is not unusual. I am hoping he will eat once he is home. I am surprised to learn he is returning without a cast of any type but will have pain meds and an antibiotic,like Phoebi had posted. It was diffficult to decide to go forward with the surgery-he didn"t "skip" all the time, but it it has been progressing and he injured a ligament in the same leg a few weeks ago. With the assistance of friends and the support of people on this board I was able to choose a surgeon I felt best able to perform his surgery.
