I don't have a dog with IBD, but I myself have Crohn's Disease which is one of the IBDs.
Just thought I would throw in a suggestion that has worked for me. I see a dietician, and she helps me find the "trigger" foods that might cause problems. Sometimes it's not one specific food, but it is a combination of foods. (i.e., the combination of two or more foods can cause a problem, whereas each food separately will not). Also, keep in mind that there are times when a certain food might cause problems.....other times, that food will not cause a problem. It's a pain!!!
When I am having problems, I've been told to keep a food diary. Write down the time foods are eaten, about how much, and whether there was any kind of problem caused by that food.
I've found that keeping a food diary during my bad times works really well! |
