 Lots of Questions (Long)
Hi,
I have a yorkie/mix?? little girl that I brought home from an abusive situation. Well, after caring for her for a few weeks, of course she is staying. She has our hearts, and fits in perfectly with our two Maltese boys. Lots of questions now-
1. Flea Meds: I put Advantix on her shortly after her first vet visit one month ago, I apply it in small drops along her spine as instructed by my vet, the next day I noticed a large patch of hair at the base of her tail looked like it had rubbed off. It was a large patch, a circle about 3 inches around. I am afraid to apply it again. Of course, I asked the vet, he swore it wasn't the Advantix and to go ahead and use it monthly. Should I put it on again?
2.Spaying and Dental:She has gained almost a pound and a half since I have had her, (Innova Small Bites), and now looks really healthy. Vet estimates her at 2-3 years old, and I want her spayed before her next heat. (my males are neutered), however, I am scared to death about the anesthesia. Anyone on here have a less than 3 pound dog that did okay with anesthesia? Anything special your vet did? Should I go to a vet school to have it done?
3.Grooming her is almost impossible. I took her in to a groomer initially and had her shaved (she was a smelly mess when I got her), but I can't get anywhere near her with a brush, let alone nail clippers or a toothbrush. Any ideas?
I have lots questions, but this will do it for now. All help will be appreciated!
