Hi.I have knitted the sweater on the front of the first book.I have got 3 books on knitting for dogs but I haven't seen the second book you've got.I have knitted all my life,starting with dolls clothes to hand kniting for the fashion industry.Even had some on TV.Once you have got a basic pattern it is very easy to adapt it to different styles.Good luck with your kniting,will look out for photos.
