I think that pet stairs are a good idea for protecting their legs. Even though they can jump off/on furniture, it's easier on their legs in the long run if they just walk/run up/down some stairs. You don't want your babies to get luxating patellas later on. Miko and Emma have both learned how to use the stairs and they use them religiously. Emma never jumps on/off furniture anymore, she will only use the stairs. Miko uses the stairs get on/off the couch, but preferes to use a stool that I have at the edge of my bed rather than the stairs.
