Everything happens for a reason. If the officer is in on Friday, that may be the day that Zeke (Tahoe) will pay a visit to the man and the little boy.
I don't think Maureen should talk to the child without a police officer around. It may not be legal, or he may become frightened and run and tell whoever has the dog to hide him.
