For me I've found that when you get a piercing, it doesn't hurt so bad to get it done but it continues to be sore later on while it's healing. Tattoos hurt while you get them done, but when it's done it doesn't hurt at all. Mine was fine right after, then it kind of felt like a sunburn for an hour or two, and then it just itched while it healed!
My tattoo is on my lower back (at work, can't post picture) and as soon as I got it done I called my mom and told her if I ever say I'm getting another, talk me out of it! I'm kind of a big baby too, and the closest I can describe it is it felt like a razorblade cutting through my skin! I'm so glad I got it though, and it IS addictive. I'm getting another after summer
