HE WILL NOT FORGET HIS MOMMY! He will form a bond with whoever is keeping him and that is what you want him to do..But, as someone else said, leave detailed instructions. One thing I point out is..Leave all of his medical records AND a notarized authorization for vet treatment and include the fact that you will be responsible for any vet bills-either reimburse the caregiver or leave your credit card # if the vet will be the one you use regularly..This is very important in my book...
Leaving articles of clothing or such--I suggest you get several baby blankets and cut them in half or smaller and sleep with them so your smell is on them.. Ask the caregiver not to wash them unless they get soiled.
Have a great trip and if you do all the planning ahead of time you can be a little more at ease. Also, maybe you could arrange a sleepover just to try out the arrangement..
