I have six now and counting. It does hurt but I have a pretty high pain threshold. I am sure as a kid you have falled...well remember having grazed your knee that is sort of what it feels like. While they are running the needle over the area it's a burning scraping feel. Usually after about ten or so minutes of work you get used to the feel. I would suggest thinking long and hard about what you want being as it's forever. I also suggest you go to a reputable place, ask to see the artist's portfolio (most keep on so you can see their work), ask about how they steralize their needles, etc. Don't go in an rush to get it done. Check out the place and then make an appt. to come back when you are ready. A lot of time you get something you will regret later on.

I don't have any pictures with me of what I have since I am at work.

P.S. a good starter place is an ankle. It's one of the least painful places. The chest, lower back, shoulders tend to hurt a lot more.
