I can't even begin to imagine the panic you must have felt!
We have a large master bathroom and I put a gate in the door. It seems that mommy just wants an enclosed cozy den. We started putting her box under my vanity and put the end of a towel in the drawer above it so it hung down in front of her box and basically made a nice enclosed area for her. She settled down after that and never tried to take them anywhere else. We also found that we had to clean the box out 3 or more times a day because she was really picky about the box being clean. If it even got a little dirty, she would try to move them. (I wish my kids were so picky when they were growing up...
) By just using a towel and not a kennel, she had the freedom to leave when she wanted and get back to them without any help.
