Actually, I wouldn't add much of anything.. other than another goldfish or two. Check with your pet store... some carry small cat fish that can be kept with goldfish.. you just have to make sure they overwinter well.

Community/Tropical fish should not be mixed with goldfish. Also, tropical fish wouldn't make it year-round since it gets so cold in NY in the winter.

ETA: You could add a few native tadpoles.. not sure if it's to late in the season for that though.
