I am not trying to be difficult, but for someone very concerned with keeping the breed standards--1/2 lb matters!
You were very lucky to get an AKC Yorkie for $300.00! I am very happy for you and your Yorkie baby. Even for a "pet quality" AKC Yorkie--that is a very low price.

There's nothing wrong with a 1/2 pound, it makes for an excellent pet, but it does put a yorkie out of standard. I was only asking you, Bradley Wieseha, because you said that you got a yorkie that was standard in weight, size, and appearance, but I remembered you saying that your baby was almost 9 lbs. It doesn't matter though. I'm sure your baby is perfect.
