Besides having furbabies, we have 2 beautiful grandchildren, Novalee is 3 1/2 and Charles is 6 months. We are so lucky to have the children live close enough that we see them often. Novalee has grown up with our furbabies, in fact she has a special bond with the three adults. I am referred to as Grandma Puppies. Lexie's litter that was born a week ago has become Novalee's special undertaking. Lexie allows Novalee to sit in the whelping pool and love on the puppies as they are being nursed. Novalee is so gentle and knows she is not allowed to pick up the puppies but she pets them and Lexie and will tell visitors about her babies. Two nights ago when we were starting to settle down for the night, Novalee asked if she could go say good night to "her" babies. I walked in with her and thank heavens I had the camera sitting on the dresser by the puppies. Lexie was nursing the puppies and Novalee bent over Lexie and kissed every puppy good night, and gave Lexie a special kiss and got one back also. It was just so cute and such a loving moment, I just wanted to share the pictures with you. This is what makes life so wonderful, a simple act of giving and receiving love between the ones I love so much.
