We've run YorkieTalk for over four years now and the expenses keep rising every year because of the popularity of this community. We've gone through four different servers, and we have had to use several administrators, many moderators, database technicians, server admins, and computer experts to help us along. The computer hardware needs to be updated frequently, and we do have to pay for the costs of the server and for Internet bandwidth. All that is unfortunately not free.
Donating is completely voluntary, if you do not feel comfortable donating, you in no way need to. YorkieTalk is still a free community for non-commercial purposes, and will continue to be one.
