~As for his weight, I weighed him myself with our meat scale. It hovered around 1.4 to 1.5 so I went with the larger. He may look bigger becasue I am holding him, and I am the size of an average 12 year ld. LOL. I am 4'1 about 90lbs, so I make anything look bigger.
~My breeder is NOT out to make a buck, I think if something is wrong she doesn't know about it. She didn't even mean for her girl to get pregnant right now, she usually only has 1 litter and she likes to plan it out. She thought she was keeping them apart, but found her male and the female at night. She got them apart, but it took. She is a stay at home mom, and she has NO neighbors. Her dogs don't even go outside to pee becasue she lives in a heavily wooded area. They have pee pads inside.
~I saw him in person, and I didn't even think twice that he may not be purebred. But, the pictures are what's throwing me.
~As far as the price....I am paying $800 for him. Which is a fair price for around here.
I am going to ask her to take more pictures, and I will ask about why he doesn't look exactly like most that I have seen. |
The only thing that strikes me most is the color and shape of all of these Yorkie puppy pictures on this thread. You see the head is wider and the color is much cleaner. They have better and clearer markings. Maby the parents are purebred but I doubt it, there must be some mix in the line (maby one grandparent was mixed?).
In the second picture of your pup the eyes reminded me of a Chihuahua, standing a little bit out of the scull. The Yorkie eyes usially fit better in the scull.
The colors in him are not correct and most people who buy yorkies with a color fault get the puppy much cheeper.
But this is a picture and you can not judge only by that.
The only question is: Do you want a pet or show quality?
Because this puppy will never be able to be in the showring but he can be a lovely pet!
Also, do you want a dog that has the Yorkie look or would you be just as happy if the dog would be too big, if he starts to shed hair
(which Yorkies donīt do) or not look like a Yorkie grown up?
If this is ok for you and you are happy to pay this amount for him then you can just go for it and be happy with your little guy
