It made me smile when I read about the growling. When I got my poodle, Elvira, as a pup, she was a growler. I took her to puppy class when she was about 3 months old and when I mentioned to the trainer that Elvira growled and I was afraid of her, she just laughed at me. She said, "You're afraid of a 5 lb dog!"- she couldn't believe it!. She's 13 years old now and still a growler but has never been a biter and of course I am not afraid of her. I always wondered if perhaps she was the runt of the litter and had to growl to protect herself. I know I adopted her from a family with an Akita who tried to kill her so they had to give her up. Sometimes you'd like to know what happened to these little doggies before you got them.
