Well going back over and reading my posts I dont see where I said I wanted him to be a splitter or not...I read me as saying I dont care either way and just curious. Yes, I do think biewer/partis are beautiful. Yes I find it interesting to research, and yes I have looked into this to some degree by speaking to those who breed biewers and a breeder of partis. (refer to post 15 and 22) From what they have explained to me, you do not have to have a lot of white to be a carrier nor do your parents have to a biewer/parti in order to be a carrier of the pie bald gene. I used the word splitter before I knew what I was talking about and started researching, I used it because i was asked if he was a splitter hence why I started this thread. I was also told that a carrier and a Standard yorkie can produce a tri colored pup. As a full tri color can have a standard colored yorkie. Again I do not care what he is as he is my baby and I am simply curious. It is also my understanding that the pie bald is being studied by AKC right now and noone can say for certain exactly where it came from and how it works exactly. I am NO expert, and just trying to learn. As far as not seeing the white I am talking about well look closely at the pics of Diggy, Sorry I see white...and so do others thats why they are asking me why the white? Whats it from? I have seen parents and grandparents of Diggys and have 3 of Diggys siblings in my family, same parents different litters and they had a small quarter size of white on chest (well 2 did) and Diggy has a substantial larger amount of white then they do.
I don't think I am way off for asking why the white and you are exactly right he may be just like many other young Yorkies with white, and if that is all it is, then that would be my answer, but before giving an answer I felt like researching a bit and giving an educated answer than just assuming. Lots of experts in here have helped me and I appreciate it. There are also many Parti/Biewer breeders in here that may also help you on your research and help in finding you a tri colored baby as you stated you want. Hope that answers your questions, and good luck with your research! It's fun!
