I changed my major 3 times while in college...finally decided on education and have been teaching for 21 years. I love it! But I know so many new teachers that come into the field and are burned out within 2-3 years of teaching! I truly believe administration is sometimes the key factor. There is a lot they can do to make your teaching life a lot easier and stress free.
My son, also a teacher, changed his major 4 times, before graduating with a math/technology degree. My daughter, who just graduated in Hospitality Management/Nutrition, changed her major numerous times--to the tune of six years of college for an undergraduate degree. Now, both are very happy with their final majors.
IMO--I don't think many students, right out of high school, have a clue about what they should major in. Many think they know, but truely don't even know what "that career" even incompasses.
Good luck!
BTW--Both my son and myself have both gotten our masters' in technology education.
