I agree! If I were you, I would get a copy of the x-rays and show them to 1 or 2 more vets to see if their are any other alternatives. First, you might want to see if another vet can take the x-rays without anesthesia (sp?)
As far as Rimadyl goes, I do not know anything about it, but I'm sure there is a different painkiller that your baby can take. My old Basset Hound Charlie hurt his leg several times and the vet gave me Metacam. "Metacam (meloxicam) is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAID) oral suspension for use for the treatment of pain and inflammation in dogs." It worked well for Charlie. You give it to them in their mouth. Charlie liked the taste and after a dose or two, he seemed like he wasn't in any pain at all. Maybe you could ask your vet about that. Does anyone else know if their are any risks with this medication?
