when I turn someone down, I just say, sorry, i don't think my puppy is a good fit for you. if they get miffed then I say, i'm sorry you are upset but i have a right to say where my puppies go. that usually ends it. if they persist, I just don't answer them. i recently turned down someone in Boston because of the other dog in her home and she agreed with me when It was done. also, recently, I had to cancel a sale to a special friend just recently and it really hurt me. probably as much as it did the person. But we do have a responsibility to these little guys to pick the best homes for them. |
