It can also mean that there has been an incident with one of the whelps that she is carrying. A drastic temperature fall with more than a degree rise can be an indication that a puppy is breaking away from the walls of the uterus and is ready to be born. Keep a close eye on her and continue to monitor her temp. I was told that if the temperature falls below 99 degrees and remains there for more than 48 hours without any signs of labor to get in touch with the vet as it could mean the beginning of eclampsia. Watch her for signs of weakness and tremors. Hope all is well and you have your new pups soon.
