My yorkie was just diagnosed with a collapsed trachea today. Poor baby. I took a video of one of his honking episodes in to the vet as he never takes me serious and after watching the video he immediately said that he needed to take x-rays. He saw a slight collpase in the chest region (worst place to have it). He is on a cough suppresant for now. His honking episodes usually only last about 15 to 20 seconds but can happen up to a dozen times a day. Any time Dylan gets excited the honking starts. He's only a year and a half old and is definitely not overweight. He's actually on the skinny side. I hope the medicine doesn't affect his appetite as he is not very interested in eating the way it is. |
