That's definitely a no no!! No matter what store the customer is at they should be given priority service. If it wasn't for us, the clerks wouldnt have a job. Im glad that clerk was reported then and there. Perhaps he or she is unhappy there, then they should quit and get another job. But no matter what, the customer comes first! I know because I was a customer service representative for a large utility company and we were always reprimanded by management if were got out of line with the customer! I am the same way, now that Im retired, if I feel that the clerk is rude or just doesnt care, I ask for the manager and make a formal complaint. That's anywhere I go. From See's candies to petsmart, there's plenty of people out there just waiting for these jobs! I also talk directly to the employee, I told one who was extremely rude to me that "you are here to work and help customers!" I reported him immediately to the supervisor at the market and a couple days later I didnt see him anymore. Im not out to take somebody's livelihood away, but hey, when you deal with the public, give them your best. Sorry for the long post, but I hate it when clerks that should work in the back are placed in the front with the public!
