We went to see Dr. Lesser at New York Veterinary Specialty Center on Thursday and the surgery costs around $3,000.00 (including 3 1-hour physical therapy sessions@$95.00 each)! This is surgery for an FHO/Femoral Head Ostectomy. The consult itself was $140.00 on top of that. This must be top dollar?

I liked Dr. Lesser and the center is very professional, clean and quiet. (Maybe it's quiet because few can afford to go there). I went ahead and scheduled her for July 27th, but I had misgivings even before I read your replies. Maybe I should get a second opinion. I will do and pay whatever it takes to help Twiggy, but I don't have a lot of money and it won't help anyone including her or her brother Rocco if I spend what I have unnecessarily. MM
