i tried straight garlic and he would not touch it.. he will eat eat brewers yeast / garlic tablets in a pill pocket. i also wash him with cain and able which has natural oils to repel fleas. i vacum with a flea collar in the bag. i wash my wood floors with vinegar. i put chopped onions all over the back yard every 2 weeks to repel rabbits, squirrels and other animals that carry fleas. it's a bad flea year and i'm keeping him in my yard and home where i know we are flea free. i also use neem spray on his harness everytime he goes out. it's like a part time job keeping the fleas away without using toxic chemicals. the topical flea stuff is very scary if you look into it. it's toxic to both of you. good luck.
