OH SORRY, I don't think it was the tums that fixed that issue. I
did not give him the tums for that, just for his upset tummy on occasion. I gave them both Tylan which is an antibiotic (a smidge twice a day for six weeks which was a "LOT" less than the suggested amount on the bottle) when I first got Toby and both of their problems cleared up. I also started giving both kids distilled water with unfiltered organic apple cider (health food store, 1 qt. for $6). I use one teaspoon of the vinegar with a quart of water. Kallie's red staining and Toby's wet eyes are staying cleared up without any additional Tylan. I have not given either of them the Tylan after the initial doses. Made a world of difference in both of them.
Sorry I gave you the wrong impression with the tums. I tried it for about eight months with Kallie and it seemed to help but never fully eliminated the red staining but I never tried using the tums on Toby for the wetness around his eyes.
