You are so right! Before I moved here I was living in the city I grew up in. It's a rapidly expanding Air Force Base town. It's grown considerably in the 23 years since we moved there. All of the development has forced the wildlife out of their habitats and guess where they're forced to go?!? A good friend of mine hit a deer that was crossing one of the busiest 4 lane roads. Thank goodness nobody got seriously injured. There have even been black bear sightings right outside of the city limits where they are building short cut roads through the woods. I can't help but feel terrible for the animals. They have to survive and we're giving them so little to work with so they adapt and make do.
