Put some treats in there or her favorite toy. Leave it open on the floor and randomly put treats in it and let her sniff around in there.
I haven't put Sammy in an enclosed carrier - I have a sling that she sticks her head out of the whole time. But otherwise she stays quiet and just looks around, so I just stick to places that won't kick me out
You might try it with it unzipped for now and then zip it just for short trips into places you want to be more discreet.
