I was recommended to a excellent dog food- small kibble-human grade called Wysong. They have a type called Anergen especially made for dogs with food allergies. I used to feed Royal Canin.. and the itching was awful!The I switched to Wysong.. and its been MUCH better. As an experiment, I swictched back again.Within a few days.. back to itching again. So I feel I have given it a fair shake. Its also been listed on the "10 best" list thats out there. I have also heard that Innova is good.The other issue with Royal Canin is the very high protein count. Our little guys systems can not handel that much (33), and can get liver or kidney "burnout". So, I hope this is a help. I can get mine from a good pet store-- its also on line. But its not available from PetsMart or PetCo
