how terribly sad!
I'm assuming it's the same in your state....she now has to go to a Medicaid funded facility?
I have to be honest, I don't think there's much you're going to be able to do short of paying for her private facility yourself. And God knows....I know how much that must be!
My only other thought is no matter where she goes can you stop and check in on her? As awful as this is going to sound and I'm sure you already know it because you work in the field BUT they tend to care for them better when they know somebody is coming to check up.
I visit one of our local nursing homes once a week to visit my "Nans"! I have about 10 of them all to myself!
Let me explain, 2 years ago my Uncle was there for a year before he passed. During that time I got quite attached to these Nans and once my Uncle was gone I never stopped visiting them.
I know that at least once a week they'll be up, dressed, hair combed and ready for their visit. You see....I'm the only one who ever goes and visits them.
I'm sorry...you must feel helpless.
