It's only been a little more than a year that we've had Rudy but I remember I kept him in his crate all night. But I can't remember if I got up every now and then and left him outside to pee.

We just use the vet that we had for my mom's dog and my sister & SIL go to the same place also. You could ask around, maybe where you getting your new little one ask them the vet question.
