I have NO idea bout the first question, but the 2nd one, I have PLENTY of experience with!! My little guy does this ALL the time! He is looking to bury it! My guy walks around whining for about a half hour with it in his mouth, then he tries to bury it in the couch, his bed, my bed if he can, under throw pillows, in blankets on the couch, etc. I think he whines because he wants to bury it in MY bed but I shut the door now due to a bread disaster months ago.
When I literally had to sleep with bread crumbs in my bed all night bc I had no idea he was 'burying' his bread/treats in my bedcovers! HAHAHAHA
