No, the AKC does not recognize the Biewer. As far as the off colored yorkie, yes they can be registered with AKC....on the litter registration there is an area that states if the boxes provided does not describe your color/yorkie go to such and such to identify it. However, there is a disqualification that has just been written into the standard, disqualifying off colored yorkies from the ring.

Hope that explains it a little more clearly.
