Oh I did do the Blood panel. I have that record also. I bred Rottie's and had both parents OFA certified but I did not know if it was important to have a Yorkie OFA also...I will definately do that test then. He has a vet visit tomorrow, I was tring to compile a list of things I would like the vet, and tests to run before I think any further of breeding him. I am not interested in breeding for show or anything like that. I have did research on the piebald gene with help from other YT Parti and Biewer breeders/owners and I realize there is mulitple theories as to where the pie bald comes from. I am following what AKC says and not breeders ont his one as they have the final say so on where this gene comes from and what is standard. he has white on his chin, chest and and glazed on his front legs. Here are a few pics of him. The third pic are his sisters (same parents) the one on the right is Bella my baby, the one on the left is my sisters Ada. Both had white as babies also but completely disappeared when adult coat came in...same may happen with Diggy as he maures. He is only 5 months right now so we will see. Both Bella and Ada are spayed. I chose to spay Bella as she is just over 4 pounds but VERY petite and I feel too tiny to breed. Just my choice and I felt the best one for her. The owner that wants to breed with Diggy is also in the process of researching what tests she needs and how to go about it. I hear a lot of "leave it up to the experianced people to do the breeding" Everyone started somewhere right? I am not interested in breeding females...I just want the stud. But IF I do it, I want to do it right. I do need to learn about what the female should be tested on also and what to look for on her Pedigree and make sure her owners have did the right things also as I am looking for the best possible standards and life for these babies. Liek I said i only would breed for pet quality right now but I feel it is just as important as show quality when it comes to health. So any other suggestions??
