Also, I want to warn everyone to stay away from the internet for purchasing a machine. I am a big internet shopper, so for me to say this, I really mean it. Ebay sewing machines as well as those from a couple of places in Texas, namely sewvacdirect.com (who sells on ebay under several names) has really STIFF return policies.

Here's an example for you...buy a machine from Sewvacdirect.com with free shipping and a FREE extended warranty. Even though they say they have a 30 day guarantee, here's what they will dock you if you return it:
The original cost of the shipping that you didn't even pay to begin with (plus it costs $30 to send the machine back UPS on top of that!)
The cost of the FREE extended warranty that you didn't even pay to begin with (we're talking $25-75, depending on what FREE warranty it comes with).
Restocking fee (I think it was 15-20%).

If you buy a $400 machine from them, you could be out over $150 by the time you;re done.
